How do we define success? Most people look at riches, fame, position or power to define their success in life. I believe that the real measure of success is the relationship between your true potential in life and what you achieved. In other words, we are only successful once we achieve our full potential.
It has been said that our potential is God’s gift to us, and what we do with that potential is our gift to God. One of the biggest reasons people do not achieve their potential is that they do not spend the bulk of their energy on their major goals. While it is true that we have the potential to do anything, we can not do everything! In order to achieve our goals, it is important to firstly... define these goals and write them down, and then to make sure that we direct our time, energy and efforts towards achieving these goals.
Apply the following five principles to map out a course of action to achieve your full potential:
1 - Define your main goals
2 - Focus on these goals - all your thoughts, actions & energy
3 - Aim for constant improvement
4 - Forget about the past
5 - Focus on the future
Once you get these basic principles in place, and start using them, you will be well on your way to achieving your full potential in life.
“The greatest waste in the world is the difference between what we are and what we could become.” -Ben Herbster
